About Me

Pat O'Donnell
WRESTLING ALLIGATORS…WRANGLING CLIENTS…WRITING COPY. Those are just a few things a career in advertising has taught me, not to mention shameless alliteration. But more than anything else, advertising has made me curious…always seeking the next adventure, always wondering what’s next.
Starting in the mid 80s, after Boston College and SVA, I spent a couple of years at Backer and Spielvogel making ads for Miller Beer, J&B Scotch and Bailey’s Irish Crème. Then came 20 years at JWT. There I created a few well known campaigns- the most notable being the “See You Later Alligator” campaign for Lubriderm Lotion. I lived and breathed that reptile for almost ten years. While at JWT, I also created campaigns for Kleenex Tissues Worldwide, Ragu, Listerine, Red Cross, Zantac, and Kodak to name a few.
Since leaving JWT, I’ve actively explored the freelance front. Many of the assignments have been in the beauty category, but not all. Accounts have included Maybelline NY, L’Oreal Paris, Neutrogena, Maidenform, John Frieda Hair Care, Pfizer, Visiting Nurse Service of New York and even a high end metals company.
In late 2007 I packed up and made my boldest move yet by moving to Portland, Maine with my husband and two teenage daughters. Brutal winters, extraordinary summers. And an airport that makes traveling up and down the East coast for freelance easy as can be. May the adventures continue.
